Pay it Forward saw a huge success at our table at the NMU Health Fair this Tuesday. The table centered around Seasonal Affective Disorder, a prevalent and serious condition especially in the snowy U.P. where we get as little as 8 hours of sunlight during the winter. SAD, or the winter blues, is a common and damaging disorder which can cause depression, fatigue, anxiety, social isolation, and other serious issues. Hoping to raise awareness and help students feel healthier and happier this season, our group gathered information on causes, symptoms, and treatments for the condition.
We handed out information, goodies, coloring pages, and even raffled off a sun lamp, essential oils, and handmade scarves, thanks to our donors and fundraising by our members! Twelve winners have been drawn and notified, and we hope to post them here soon!
